In this session we will focus on how to pitch successfully from both an editor and a photographer’s perspective.

The workshops are especially geared towards BIPOC photographers, and are open to photographers anywhere in the world. We are here to support BIPOC and non-Western photographers to have successful careers.

Presenting Organization

About Diversify Photo

Diversify Photo is a community of BIPOC and non-western photographers, editors, and visual producers working to break with the predominantly colonial and patriarchal eye through which history and the mass media has seen and recorded the images of our time.

Our international online database is used by editors at major media outlets seeking to diversify their rosters of visual storytellers. We also create networking, exhibiting, speaking, community-building, and resource-sharing opportunities for our members.

About Photoville

Photoville is a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 in Brooklyn, NY. Our mission is to build a wide, diverse audience for photographic narratives and nurture a new lens of representation, through the creation of unique and highly innovative environments such as our free annual community photo festival.

Since Photoville’s inception, we have been devoted to building an inclusive community of visual artists. We view art as a collaborative process between artists and their audiences, and we believe that public art creates the perfect conditions to foster this creative union.
