Andres Millan

Andres Millan was born in Bogotá, Colombia. His photographic work is related to sociocultural problems of identity, memory, periphery and environment, as well as the relationship between man and his environment.

Andres has participated in national exhibitions in Bogota, Cali and Medellin and In international exhibitions such as “The Image of the Savage” in Rome, organized by LoosenArt; Getxophoto in Getxo, Spain; “The Exposure Award” in the Louvre Museum in France; and the “Coordenadas” project in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His work has been published in various media outlets, including The New York Times and
APhotoEditor.com in the US, EXIT magazine and Radio 5 in Spain, as well as Vice, Semana, Arteria, Arcadia, Exclama, Enfoque Visual, Fotomeraki and Shock in Colombia.

This year, Andres was invited to attend the fifth annual New York Portfolio Review organized by The New York Times. His work has been recognized by the ONCE Photo prize in Spain, and the Memories of the Future prize and the Showcase of Art prize in Colombia. He has been nominated for the Democratic Culture: Artistic and Cultural Agents prize and the Franco-German Antonio Narino Human Rights Prize.
