Join ICP faculty members Abigail Montes and Tiffany Williams for a hands-on imagemaking activity exploring the neighborhood! As we celebrate DUMBO, what are the people, places, and things that make this particular neighborhood come to life? While learning basic photographic techniques, participants will use whatever imagemaking device they have (smartphone, iPad, camera, etc.) to document what stands out most to them. They will then share their images as a group in honoring the day and can post to #ICPinDUMBO (Photoville hashtags) to contribute to a greater community archive!
The group will meet at the ICP tent.

Tiffany Williams (she/her), ICP at THE POINT Co-Program Coordinator & Lab Manager, Faculty
Tiffany Williams is a portrait and landscape photographer and teacher from Harlem and the South Bronx. Tiffany has been part of many nonprofit organizations working with youth and young adults since 2006. She has been part of the International Center of Photography’s (ICP) Community Programs for over twenty years, starting as a student in Teen Academy, becoming a Teaching Assistant, then the Co-Coordinator and Lab Manager of ICP at THE POINT CDC, and most recently a faculty member. She teaches students the fundamentals of analog and digital photography as well as how to create a portfolio in a virtual classroom. For the past three years, Tiffany has also been the Coordinator for Minds Empowered, another program at THE POINT CDC, where she works with youth talking about domestic violence and creating art.
The International Center of Photography (ICP) is the world’s leading institution dedicated to photography and visual culture. Cornell Capa founded ICP in 1974 to champion “concerned photography”—socially and politically minded images that can educate and change the world. Through our exhibitions, education programs, community outreach, and public programs, ICP offers an open forum for dialogue about the power of the image.
