Expressing or selling ideas through images, requires the ability to produce effective visuals fluently and effortlessly as a way of life. This kind of ability and agility comes from honing hard earned skills into a dependable process and that process to an instinct. This talk will regurgitate advice given to me through the years, especially pieces of it I found to apply well in the creative process, (or ones that make me sound intelligent) and try to explain how a sweet boy, good with a pencil (as my late father lovingly used to describe me) turned into a picture making maniac with workaholic tendencies and illusions of grandeur. A grueling Q&A session will follow.

Mr. Koen is widely considered a peculiar case in the applied arts, not just because of the way he looks, but for managing to successfully criss-cross between photography, illustration, typography, design, academia, facebook and gallery work without getting killed.
