In the past decade, politics replaced sex as the one thing in America we don’t discuss in mixed company. Bring It to The Table defies that rule by engaging people to examine not just what they believe politically, but why.

In the past decade, politics replaced sex as the one thing in America we don’t discuss in mixed company. Bring It to The Table defies that rule by engaging people to examine not just what they believe politically, but why.
For the past year, producer/director Julie Winokur has travelled across the country with a small Table, inviting people to sit and share the roots of their political beliefs on camera. In this presentation, she discusses her provocative, creative approach to breaking down hyper-partisanship and catalyzing conversation. She shows excerpts from the project and then engages attendees in live Table Talks. Then she invites the audience to gauge their own biases about issues and policy.
Bring It to The Table, which was launched through a Kickstarter campaign, has been featured on NPR and MSNBC. It offers a prime example of how visual media can move the needle on people’s perceptions.
