Foto Féminas founder Verónica Sanchis will perform a walkabout with the community’s mobile library. The event showcases a collection of photobooks in an innovative and engaging way by bringing the books to the audience via a librarian wearing bookshelves.
Verónica Sanchis was born and raised in Caracas, studied photography in the UK, became a mother in Hong Kong, and now lives in New York City!
In 2015, she founded Foto Féminas, an influential online platform dedicated to promoting the work of Latin American and Caribbean women photographers. Through this initiative, she has curated exhibitions in Argentina, China, Guatemala, Peru, Chile, and Mexico. A year later, she expanded the project by launching the Foto Féminas Library—a traveling archive that celebrates and preserves the work of female and non-binary photographers from the region. The library has been exhibited in cultural institutions and festivals across Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, New York, and Miami.
Since 2022, Veronica has also worked as a freelance photo editor, continuing to explore the many ways photography can connect, empower, and tell vital stories.
