Artist talk with photographer Sharon Chischilly.
Our 2023 Photoville Education Day included field trips to our Photo Village in Brooklyn Bridge Park, engaging conversations with professional artists, and a series of lively youth artist panel talks known as the Youth Artist Exchange, all tailored to middle and high school students.
Sharon Chischilly is an independent visual journalist based in the Navajo Nation. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, NBC News, and more. Sharon will be receiving her degree in journalism and mass communications in Spring 2024 from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Sharon focuses on documenting stories from her community that are often underrepresented and underreported.
We’re honored to continue our partnership with Photoville for our 7th consecutive year, and to celebrate Photoville’s 12th edition! Each year Photoville provides so many rich, unique, and diverse experiences in and around photography–PhotoWings is thrilled to help enrich this community as Education Partners.

The PhotoWings Outreach Program and our extensive media archive have myriad educational applications and possibilities, including projects from partners that cross disciplines, generations, and cultures. We also create toolkits/curricula for replication, adaptation and/or inspiration.

The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment’s mission is to support and strengthen New York City’s creative economy and make it accessible to all.
