Did you ever wish there was some photo-world superhero who would walk you around Photoville and show you their favorite work? Welcome back to our famous Photoville Guided Tours!

Our Photoville team members have curated a selection of exhibitions and will be sharing their personal perspectives with YOU! This is a rare opportunity to take a curated tour of Photoville, learn about the exhibited visual stories in Brooklyn Bridge Park and even meet a few of the artists along the way! So put on your walking shoes and join us for this special tour!

  • Koren Martin

    Koren Martin

    Koren Martin is a photographer and arts administrator originally from Atlantic City, NJ. Her work is a mixture of candid portraiture and immersive documentary photography. She has passion for highlighting the beauty and strength of the African Diaspora. Her current photo series “Birthing The Resistance” is a celebration of Black Mothers that are involved in activism.

    She has received an honorable mention in MFON: Women Photographers of the African Diaspora, an exclusive and commemorative biannual journal committed to establishing and representing a collective voice of women photographers of African descent. Her work has been featured in the anthology “How We Stay Free”, MFON exhibition “Altar: Prayer, Ritual, Offerings.”at Photoville, The Chrysler Museum Exhibition “Come Together, Right Now: The Art of Gathering”, Puffin Foundation Exhibition “Election, 2020” and the Harlem Arts Alliance/CUNY-Black Studies exhibition “Black (W)omen: Seen It Before.”

    Founded in 2011 in Brooklyn, NY, Photoville was built on the principles of addressing cultural equity and inclusion, which we are always striving for, by ensuring that the artists we exhibit are diverse in gender, class, and race.

    In pursuit of its mission, Photoville produces an annual, city-wide open air photography festival in New York City, a wide range of free educational community initiatives, and a nationwide program of public art exhibitions.

    By activating public spaces, amplifying visual storytellers, and creating unique and highly innovative exhibition and programming environments, we join the cause of nurturing a new lens of representation.

    Through creative partnerships with festivals, city agencies, and other nonprofit organizations, Photoville offers visual storytellers, educators, and students financial support, mentorship, and promotional & production resources, on a range of exhibition opportunities.
