Over the last several months Tyler Stableford and his photography team have captured fine-art images of national farmers and ranchers, beekeepers, small-batch distillers and other food artisans around the country as part of a Canon portraiture series. The project has connected Stableford Studios and Canon to a special breed of people who, along with their families, are deeply connected to the land and soil; it has been one of the true highlights of Tyler’s career. At Photoville, Tyler will discuss his project with Wired Raw File’s Doug Bierend. Doug will guide Tyler through a conversation about The Farmers project, how it deviates from Tyler’s traditional work as an adventure photographer and influenced Tyler’s approach to capturing portraiture. The talk will also look at how Tyler’s workflow has been influenced by printing on the Canon imagePROGRAF large format printers and seeing his photos come to life while experiencing that with his subjects. Join Tyler and Canon for an Open House and product demonstration located at the Canon area at 5:00 pm before the Artist Talk at 6:30 pm.

    Tyler Stableford

Tyler’s home base is Carbondale, Colorado and all over western part of the state, which is a mecca for outdoor activities. He shoots everything from rock climbing and skiing to mountain biking and fly fishing for both editorial and commercial clients.

Tyler tries to be fearless in life, and in photography. On any given day he may be photographing workers on an oil and gas rig, a motorcyclist riding over Independence Pass in Colorado, or a climber at 12,000 feet in the blaring sun.

Whether he’s shooting for a catalog, article, or stock, every single image has a purpose and he will take any assignment if it will lead to dramatic, inspiring, or informative imagery. In Tyler’s 15 year career, he’s learned that you don’t need to get on an airplane to Iceland to shoot great images or to have personal and professional growth. He feels very fortunate-photography has opened many doors for him to see and photograph things that have created a life of passion.

Draper White credits his passion for the outdoors for giving him the fuel to do his work as a photographer. After graduating from the Hallmark Institute of Photography in 2004, Draper pursued his dream by moving to Colorado to assist Tyler Stableford. Today Draper works as a photographer, cinematographer and print master at Stableford Studios, where he has collaborated on numerous award-winning campaigns. Although Draper’s work takes him around the world, he calls Carbondale, Colorado home.
