Dumbo Arts Center will present an outdoor multi-artist interactive project for Photoville. The project is based on the photo stand-ups that are typically available at tourist attractions such as carnivals, fairs and amusement parks. These stand-ups allow the viewer to become part of the action by placing his or her head through a hole in the back of the stand-up, protruding through the front, thus becoming the character depicted. Traditionally, the stand-ups depict cowboys, strongmen and buxom bavarian beer waitresses.

DAC has invited several artists to create their own versions of the photo-stand-ups. In this case, the artwork is not finished until the visitors are part of it. Completion occurs when a photo is snapped of the person taking their place as Winged Victory, Yayoi Kusama or the face of a multi-armed mutant.
