Via Baltic is a collaborative work of photography, film, and performance art produced by OKAPI Gallery of Tallinn, Estonia.

The contemporary art work is inspired by The Baltic Way, a historic human chain that formed on 23 August 1989, as 2.5 million people from the Baltic countries, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, joined hands in peaceful protest to declare their freedom from the Soviet Union. This exhibition consists of a film, and black and white photographic images shot with drones that flew over the landscape of the Viru Raba forest in Estonia.

The Via Baltic project raises the questions of nationality, freedom, borders, and migration, while also celebrating 101 years of Baltic national history.

The centerpiece of the Via Balticphotographs and film, are the spectacular aerial views of the Estonian landscape made by drones five hundred meters from the ground, meant to inspire conversations about freedom, the body, geographies, and liminal borders.
