Alison Carey

Alison Careyʼs work explores the landscapes of the Earth, Moon, and Ocean; in her studio she constructs landscapes of the ancient past as well as landscapes that may exist in the possible future. Carey has exhibited her work in science and art venues that include solo exhibitions in the USA at the International Museum of Surgical Science, IL, Albuquerque Museum of Natural History & Science, NM, Griffin Museum of Photography, MA; group exhibitions include the National Academy of Sciences, DC, Museum of Contemporary Photography, IL, University of New Mexico Art Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Santa Fe, NM, Noorderlicht Photofestival, Netherlands, Pingyao Photography Festival, China, and Light Festival Kaunas, Lithuania. Recent group exhibitions include works at the Donggang International Photo Festival 2022, South Korea, and The Big Picture 2023, Denver, CO. Carey has an MFA from the University of New Mexico, and a BFA from School of Visual Arts, NYC. She is currently an Associate Professor of Photography at Columbia College Chicago where she has been teaching since 2007.
