Barbie Latza Nadeau is an American journalist and author based in Rome, Italy since 1996. She is the author of “Angel Face: Sex, Murder and the Inside Story of Amanda Knox,” about the murder trials of American student Amanda Knox, “Roadmap to Hell: Sex, Drugs and Guns on the Mafia Coast,” about Nigerian sex trafficking and the mafia in Italy, and an upcoming book on the empowerment of women in Italy’s organized crime syndicates—tentatively titled “Godmothers,” to be published by Penguin Random House in 2022. She is the former Rome bureau chief for Newsweek, and is currently correspondent-at-large for the Daily Beast, as well as a CNN contributor for breaking news in Italy.
