Mathieu Young is a professional freelance photographer and director. His work is grounded in three pillars: emotion, story, and style. He has served major clients including Bose, Samsung, Showtime, and Paramount Pictures, and won awards for social enterprise campaigns in Tanzania, Kenya, Cambodia, and Nicaragua. He covered the 2008 elections for CNN, landed independent photojournalism stories in Time Magazine, Rolling Stone, Newsweek, The New York Times, and was awarded a Best of Show award at the 2016 International Photography Awards.
As CEO and Founder of Art of Freelance and Co-Founder and Host of Kensington Presents—a monthly music and dinner series in collaboration with the California State Parks—he is one of LA’s most powerful creative connectors. He’s also a current member of the Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Union Local 600) and a licensed pilot.
