Supranav Dash

Supranav Dash currently shuttles between his hometown Kolkata, India, and New York City. His work examines the themes of identity, gender, sexuality, displacement, and caste-class divide within the global socio-economic and political landscape.

Supranav is a 2016-17 Fellow in Photography from the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and an EAW XXVI Alumni. He made a second place at the KLPA Photographic Prize 2021 and showcased his work at the PhotoSCHWEIZ 2021, at American Photography 37, DearDAVE 29 magazine, and the Strange Fire Collective; he exhibited at the PhotoVogue 2019 Festival, Milan, Italy, and The Serendipity Arts Festival 2019, Goa, India. He is a 2016-17 Fellow in Photography from the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and exhibited at the PhotoVogue 2017 Festival, Milan, and at Chobimela IX, Dhaka in 2017; at the Photoquai Biennial (PHQ5) 2015 at Musee du Quai Branly, Paris, and at the Noorderlicht Photo-Festival, Groningen in 2015.

Dash has worked for The New Yorker, WIRED, WSJ, CRY (NGO) and his projects have appeared in publications including Time Lightbox, DAZED Digital, Harper’s US, GEO, National Geographic, Smithsonian, WIRED, Huffington Post, DearDAVE, American Photo, Fast Company-Design, Lens Culture, SDN, Photographic Museum of Humanity, GUP magazine, Ojodepez magazine, PDN Edu, DOC! magazine, aCurator, StrangeFireCollective, Tasveer Journal, The Morning News, PetaPixel among others.
