Thesis, Interrupted
LOCATION: Brooklyn Bridge Park – Fulton Ferry Lawn | Get Directions
Thesis, Interrupted explores the evolution of the School of Visual Arts Masters in Digital Photography class of 2020’s thesis projects, during the pandemic and subsequent quarantine. Cut off from the school’s facilities and each other, the students had to find creative solutions to continue or adapt their work.
In the developing space of online learning, the students, their instructors and the department staff, managed to build a different kind of community and support system, to successfully complete the school year. This exhibition, and the concurrent thesis exhibition–Parallel Adaptations are a testament to these photographers’ resilience, ingenuity, and skill.

The seventeen artists in Thesis, Interrupted are the 2020 graduating class of the School of Visual Arts’ Masters in Digital Photography program.
