

ICE in Communities presents recent work by Jeenah Moon and Yuki Iwamura. Both are alumni of the International Center of Photography’s full-time program in Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism program. Recently they have been documenting the tensions brought to community life by agents from ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement). Jeenah has been in Little Village, a densely populated neighborhood on Chicago’s Southwest Side, photographing for Reuters. Yuki was in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, for the Associated Press.

Jeenah Moon
Jeenah Moon is a New York–based staff photographer for Reuters. She has covered major national and international events, including the COVID‑19 pandemic, the 2021 Atlanta spa shootings, the New York migrant crisis, and the New York hush‑money trial of Donald Trump. Through her photography, Moon strives to capture pivotal moments with clarity, accuracy, and a human sense of experience.

Yuki Iwamura
Originally from Japan, Yuki Iwamura has worked internationally as a freelance photographer since graduating from ICP in 2018. His clients include The New York Times, Thomson Reuters, Associated Press, Agence France-Presse, and Bloomberg News.
