Yuki Iwamura is a staff photographer for the Associated Press, based in New York, covering breaking news, politics, feature stories, and professional sports. Born and raised in Nagano, Japan, he studied sociology in Los Angeles before attending the International Center of Photography School in New York. After graduating in 2019, he worked as a freelance photographer in New York, Tokyo, and internationally before joining the AP in 2025. His coverage includes the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter demonstrations, US presidential elections, the Tokyo Olympics, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
