Photography Reimagined

Photography can come in many shapes and forms (even more so in today’s digital age), and as an art form there is no right or wrong. We need to understand the context and background behind why a photographer creates the work they create.

As a photographer and digital artist with a background in architecture, photography has always been a canvas to create new worlds and ideas from the places I visit. I aim to inspire people to travel and explore the world even if some of the images and moments I create do not actually exist in real life or did not actually happen. When exploring places I am always questioning “What if?” and imagining “What could be?” and that is what I hope to convey in my work.

All the images here are made up of photos I have taken myself—some a mashup of a few places in one, some a variation of a single location. For me, photography is about creating a vision and expressing my creativity from the world that surrounds us. I want the viewer to always be challenged and question what is real and what isn’t real in a photograph.

Demas Rusli is a Sydney-based photographer/designer who pushes the boundaries of photography through unique perspectives and creative editing techniques. He specializes in urban, architecture, and aerial photography and has worked on international campaigns with brands such as Adobe, Samsung, DJI, Nike, and Etihad Airways. By actively sharing his passions and expertise online over the past 10 years, Demas has accumulated an engaged audience of over 1M followers on social media.
