Diane Meyer

Diane Meyer is an artist currently living in Los Angeles. She received a BFA from NYU, Tisch School of the Arts, and an MFA from UC San Diego. Her work explores the physicality of photographs and has been exhibited widely nationally and internationally. Her work is in the permanent collections of the George Eastman Museum; the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago; the Morgan Library; and the Hood Museum. She is represented by Galerie Sit Down, Paris.

In this series, cross-stitch embroidery has been sewn directly into personal photographs appearing as pixelization. By combining the visual language of digital imaging with analog processes, a connection is made between forgetting and file corruption, referring to photography’s tendency to displace, rather than preserve, memory.
