Shawn Montano is the coordinator for the Video Editing division of NPPA’s Best of Photojournalism competition. Montano teaches video production, digital storytelling, media writing & media management at the University of Northern Colorado’s Journalism and Media Studies program. Before transitioning into education, Montano had a 20-year broadcast career that encompassed working for all five major stations in Denver: KUSA, KMGH, KCNC, KWGN and KDVR. He’s won five Heartland regional Emmys, an Edward R. Murrow Award and three Colorado Broadcasters Association Awards. He’s also a four-time winner of the NPPA’s Video Editor of the Year award.
