Opening Weekend Community Celebration

Opening Weekend Community Celebration

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the opening of the 13th annual Photoville Festival with our Community Celebration!

Our FREE visual storytelling event incorporated all the usual festival fun into one jam-packed weekend in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

We pulled out all the stops with two full days of family-friendly activities, carefully curated photography workshops for professionals and lovers of the craft, engaging tours, and a powerfully captivating night of visual storytelling. There was something for everyone:

Leica Camera workshops, a Penumbra tintype portrait booth, family activities with Creatively Wild, safety workshops designed for visual journalists with ACOS Alliance and Committee to Protect Journalists, workshops with the International Center of Photography, artist-led walking tours with Adobe, and specially curated tours with festival artists and curators. Not to mention, our Educator Community Happy Hour on the Brooklyn Waterfront. If you found yourself hungry, we had you covered with delicious bites at the Smorgasburg Pop Up.

As the summer sun sets, the evening came alive with our special “We Are Happy To Inspire You” celebration, showcasing new and emerging talents and photography projects from around the world! Stay tuned for highlights from the weekend!
